Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson (VH1 Storytellers)
Funny How Time Slips Away Letras:[Nelson:] Well, I was down in, uh, the Houston area back in the late '50s and went
to Nashville in the late part of '59, but, I was down there workin' a club and on
the way back and forth to the club, which was all the way across Houston, s'a long
ways, so I'd write songs, it was my writing time. So I wrote three songs in one weekend.
[Guitar notes.]
[Nelson:]
Well, hello there.
[Applause.]
My, it's been a long, long time.
How 'm I doin'?
Oh, I guess that I'm doing fine.
It's been so long now, but it seems now,
That it was only yesterday.
Gee, ain't it funny, how time slips away.
And how's your new love?
Well, I hope that he's doing fine.
And I heard you told him,
[Más Letras en http://es.mp3lyrics.org/1hZz]That you'd love him till the end of time.
Now that's the same thing that you told me,
And it seems like only yesterday.
Gee, ain't it funny, how time just slips away.
[Instrumental break featuring Nelson on the guitar.]
[Applause.]
Well I gotta go now.
[Nelson:] (Thank you.)
And I guess I'll see you around.
But I don't know when though,
'Cause I never know when I'll be back in town.
But remember what I tell you,
That in time you're going to pay.
And it's surprisin' how time just slips away.
Gee, ain't it funny, how time just slips away.
[Applause.]
[Nelson:] Thank you. Thank you.
